
Reza Forghani, PhD
Dr. Reza Forghani is a diagnostic radiologist and clinician scientist. Dr. Forghani completed his MD and PhD degrees at McGill University, with a PhD in molecular and cell biology. He the completed residency training in Diagnostic Radiology (2008) at McGill University, followed by a 2-year Fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. After his fellowship, Dr. Forghani joined the Department of Radiology at the Jewish General Hospital, and subsequently moved his clinical practice to the Department of Radiology at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). Dr. Forghani is also as a clinician scientist by the Ministry of Science of the province of Quebec, with formal support as a Clinical Research Scholar (or chercheur-boursier clinicien) by the FRQS (Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec). Dr. Forghani is currently the director of Augmented Intelligence & Precision Health Laboratory (AIPHL) of the Research Institute of MUHC (https://www.mcgill.ca/radiology/research/augmented-intelligence-precision-health-laboratory) with interest in medical applications of artificial intelligence, advanced imaging, and integration of multi-dimensional data types for precision healthcare. The AIPHL lab is a multi-disciplinary laboratory focused on development and translation of medical AI applications in collaboration with different clinical disciplines, other academic and basic science researchers, and industry. The AIPHL lab also offers a medical AI fellowship, enabling scientists with a computer science or engineering background to immerse themselves into health-related research and applications within a multi-disciplinary clinical setting.
